The MSc study programme “Production and Utilisation of Wood Products” prepares its graduates on very high professional level in the areas linked to the production, placement and use of wood products and for a wide range of jobs in wood processing and related industries. The study programme is focused on the complex utilisation of wood as a renewable raw material in the field of projecting and constructing of products, wood constructions, research, project and consultancy and commercial and business activities. To qualify for enrolment on the programme, applicants should have successfully completed BSc study in wood technology or related fields.
This two-year MSc programme comprises three study semesters and one diploma work semester. The first year comprises two terms of lectures and practicals. Terms are focused on courses covering the wood science courses (Wood Anatomy, Wood Properties) and technological courses (e.g. Woodworking, Sawmilling, Wood Based Particle and Fibre Panels) and there is a range of other courses aimed at production management and marketing and trade with wood products. The last term is devoted to diploma seminar and elaboration of diploma thesis.
