Peter Galajda has successfully completed parallel Master’s-level studies at the Faculty of Wood Sciences and Technology, Technical University in Zvolen, and at FH Salzburg, Campus Kuchl.
At TUZVO, his studies in Furniture Design and Construction provided him with a strong foundation in wood structure and properties, furniture engineering, and the complete design process – from the initial concept and technical drawings to the finished product.
At FH Salzburg, his studies in Forest Products Technology (Holztechnologie) broadened this expertise to industrial wood processing and engineered wood products such as CLT, glulam and LVL. In addition to wood technology and management, he completed modules in Leadership, Controlling and Design of Experiments, further strengthening his managerial, analytical and strategic skills as well as his ability to plan and evaluate experimental work in an international academic environment.
Completing such a demanding study pathway required much more than individual determination. It was also made possible by close cooperation and considerable academic and organisational effort on both sides, particularly by Assoc. Prof. Ľuboš Krišťák and Assoc. Prof. Richard Kminiak at TUZVO, and Prof. Marius C. Barbu and Prof. Eugenia M. Tudor at FH Salzburg.
The value of this international study experience has already extended beyond the two universities. Peter was subsequently selected for a traineeship at the Council of the European Union in Brussels, opening further opportunities for his professional development and future career in an international environment.
His story demonstrates what close cooperation between Technical University in Zvolen and FH Salzburg can achieve. It also shows how education combining wood science, timber technologies, engineering, management and analytical skills can prepare young professionals to contribute to the future development of Europe’s bioeconomy and circular economy.
Congratulations, Peter! We are proud that Zvolen and Kuchl were both part of this journey.
