A dynamic student meeting focused on international study opportunities and academic mobility was held at the Faculty of Wood Sciences and Technology, TUZVO. The event featured an engaging open discussion where students shared first-hand experiences from studying abroad, offering practical insights and inspiration to their peers.
A key highlight of the event was the participation of Prof. Eva Haviarová from Purdue University, an internationally recognized expert in wood structures and sustainable housing. Her contribution emphasized the importance of global collaboration and the strong link between research and practice.
One of the central topics was the opportunity for parallel study at the Faculty of Wood Sciences and Technology, TUZVO, and FH Kuchl (Salzburg University of Applied Sciences). This pathway was presented by Peter Galajda, a second-year Master’s student who is currently enrolled at both institutions. His experience clearly demonstrated that international study is not just an option, but a realistic and achievable pathway.
Insights into studying at Purdue University in the USA were shared by Albert Spalding, who highlighted both the academic environment and everyday student life abroad.
The discussion confirmed that studying abroad offers not only academic benefits, but also personal growth, international networking, and a broader professional perspective. The event actively encouraged students to take advantage of mobility opportunities and engage in international programmes.
